David Attenborough, Clare Balding, and Russell Brand are amongst the 500 most influential people in Britain today.

The Debrett’s 500 list is compiled each year and features the most influential people in 24 categories including advertising, art, politics, media, and sport.

The Queen did not make the list, but the royals made three appearances with the Duchess of Cambridge recognised for her style, Prince Harry praised for his work on the Invictus Games, and Prince Charles included for his controversial influence over architecture.

Two YouTube stars, Zoe Sugg (Zoella) and her boyfriend Alfie Deyes, joined Stephen Fry in the list of influential people in “new media”, along with Jamal Edwards of SB.TV

New entries this year include actor Idris Elba, presenter Clare Balding, musicians Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, and Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton.

David Attenborough, 88, is the oldest personality to make this year’s list, while 17-year-old human rights activist Malala Yousafzai was the youngest name.
