Labour has published an advert attacking David Cameron for his recent move to pull out of a head-to-head debate against Ed Milband.

Yesterday, the prime minister said that he would only take part in a single televised debate, which had to include the leaders of all seven parties.

Cameron blamed his move on “chaos” by the broadcasters organising the events, but he has been widely condemned for being a “coward” and “running scared” of any real debates.

The Tory leader’s avoidance of televised debates is in direct opposition to his own words prior to the 2010 general election, when he said he hoped that such debates would become a regular feature of British politics.
