More than 300 people have died after Hurricane Matthew struck the Caribbean island of Haiti.
The city of Jeremie saw 80% of its buildings levelled in the Category Three storm, the most powerful to his the Caribbean in a decade.
Most of the deaths came from the towns and villages around the southern coast, with many killed by falling trees and rivers overflowing from torrential rain.
The collapse of a major connecting bridge has left many people stranded without food, water, electricity or phone coverage.
Some 350,000 people are left in need of assistance according to the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The storm, with sustained winds of 120mph (193km/h) is heading towards the SU state of Florida, where thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes.
It is currently unclear whether the storm will make landfall in Florida, but at 07:00 local time (11:00 GMT) Matthew was about 35 miles (60km) east-north-east of Cape Canaveral and moving towards the coast at 14mph (22km/h).
Florida State Emergency Response Team tweeted an extreme weather warning for Cape Canaveral and Port Canaveral:
“Extreme Wind Warning for Port Canaveral and Cape Canaveral; take cover inside most interior room, stay away from doors/windows!”
