A team of European archaeologists have uncovered a 170cm tall alabaster statue of an Egyptian princess near the Egyptian city of Luxor.

The statue depicts Iset, the daughter of Amenhotep III, who ruled between 1388BC and 1348 BC, and is believed to date from that period.

It was uncovered on Luxor’s West Bank at the funery temple of Pharao Amenhotep III, and is thought to be part of a larger 14m high statue, where she would have stood between the feet of a larger statue of her father according to The Art.
