Voters in the Northamptonshire town of Winwick have been voting at the home of June and Graham Thomas since 1990. The couple, both now in the seventies, hold a polling station under the stairs in their hallway, which they think may be the “smallest polling station” in the UK.

The world’s oldest football ground

Established in 1860, Hallam FC is second only to local rivals Sheffield FC in the list of the oldest association football clubs in the world, and their Sandygate ground is the oldest still in use today.
