More and more people watch live events such as the Superbowl with a second screen such as a smartphone or an iPad in order to discuss the happenings with their digitally connected friends. We saw this emerge at the London Olympics, when the internet mocked Paul McCartney’s lack of a singing voice in unison, and last night’s Superbowl blackout was another perfect occasion for the Twitter comedians and commentators to chime in.
