Police respond to 999 call of heavy breathing to find ‘naughty dog’

Police rushed to respond after hearing heavy breathing down the phone on a 999 call, only to discover that it was a ‘naughty dog’ on the other end of the line.

Thames Valley Police arrived at an address in Edlesborough expecting an emergency but found a two-year-old Belgian Malinois called Leighton had stolen its owner’s cordless phone and managed to dial 999 from its mouth.

According to the BBC, the dog is well known to local police as it has set off the owner’s burglar alarm on a number of occasions, resulting in police call outs.

Luckily everyone saw the funny side of the incident, and it was only a police car sent to check on the caller, not a full response team of an ambulance and fire truck.
