A man has reportedly been arrested in South Carolina after jokingly trying to pay for his valentine’s Day lunch with a “one trillion dollar bill”.
Michael Williams, 53, tried to pay his bill at an Applebee’s restaurant in Sumter, South Carolina on his debit card, but that was declined. He then reportedly offered to pay for his meal with a “one trillion dollar bill”, but the Applebee’s staff did not find him funny and called the police.
Police were not too concerned with Williams’ joke, but background checks showed that he was currently wanted on a charge of contempt of the magistrate’s court, for which he was promptly arrested.
