Michael Jackson has been accused sexually abusing a young boy, in new allegations filed at a Los Angeles court.
James Safechuck, 36, who starred with Jackson in a 1980s Pepsi commercial, claims that he was molested by the pop singer at ten years old.
In court papers filed against Michael Jackson’s estate on 4 August, Safechuck’s lawyers allege:
“[Jackson] engaged in a calculated course of conduct to lure both [Safechuck] and his parents into a false sense of security and normalcy that was far from reality.
“And [Jackson] was successful in his efforts to the point that [Safechuck] endured repeated acts of sexual abuse of a heinous nature and was brainwashed by the decadent into believing they were acts of love and instigated by James himself rather than the decadent.”
The documents go on to claim that Safechuck “was molested nearly 100 times over the course of four years until he hit puberty”
TMZ allege that Jackson also used a secret code for abusing Safechuck, scratching his palm while they were holding hands to say that he wanted to have sex, referring to his penis as “bright light, brick city” and calling semen as “duck butter”.
Lawyers acting for Michael Jackson estate have asked for the claims to be dismissed, with the claims coming five years after Jackson’s death and more than 20 years after the incidents are alleged to have happened. They also claim that Safechuck has given sworn testimony that Jackson did not act inappropriately to him.
“This is a person that made his claim five years after Michael died, more than 20 years after the incidents supposedly happened and has given sworn testimony that Michael never did anything inappropriate to him.”
A hearing for Safechuck’s petition has been scheduled for 4 September 2014.
Michael Jackson was acquitted of four child sexual abuse charges in 2005. Similar charges were dropped before they went to trial in 1994.
