108 people are still missing after Saturday’s mudslide, when a 54m high wall of mud swept swept by the town of Oso in the US state of Washington.

Authorities have worked day and night in an attempt to save any people still trapped beneath the mud, with eight bodies already recovered.

The rescuers have not found anyone alive since Saturday, as they search through the ruins of people’s homes in the small town, which has a population of just 180.

The landslide is believed to have been caused by the recent torrential rain in the area.
