Malaysian officials have released a transcript of the full radio communications with the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, but the exchanges offer no clues as to the reason for the crash or the location of the wreckage.

Earlier speculation in the media about the conversations had fueled rumours of a hijacking of the plane and all 239 on board, whereas in reality the discussions are routine and reveal nothing about what happened to the doomed plane.

In a statement, a Malaysian government official described the contents of the transcript of transmissions over 54 minutes, saying:

“There is no indication of anything abnormal in the transcript”

This information comes in the wake of warnings from Australia against raising expectations about finding the wreckage of the missing plane. Although objects have been spotted by a number of planes in the southern Indian Ocean, around 1,500km from Perth, no debris has yet been recovered, and no trace of the black box has been observed.
