Two people have reportedly been injured and nine more injured after a large boulder smashed into a tourist train in the French Alps.
The train, travelling between Nice and Digne-les-Bains, was hit a by a boulder described as “the size of a car”, with the force of the impact caving in the side of the train.
This tourist train is regularly hit by falling snow or smaller rocks falling down the mountainside, but collisions with such huge boulders are very rare, with the route considered “safe” by transport officials.
