Three pro-Morsi protesters have been killed after Egyptian troops opened fire on the crowd during a march in Cairo.

A crowd of around 2,000 Morsi supporters were gathering outside the officers’ club of the Presidential Guard, where Mr Morsi is believed to be held under house arrest, to call for his release.

As the crowd swelled, the situation between increasingly tense and aggressive with people pushing forward. Reports from the ground then state that army troops shot into the air in an attempt to disperse the crwods, and when that did not work, at least two soldiers shot into the crowd.

The army denied shooting live rounds at the crowds, but a video has surfaced (above) from the AP showing blood coming from protesters obviously badly injured and bleeding.
