Tesco and Waitrose are opening “click and collect” points at six London Underground stations this year in a trial scheme and part of TfL’s efforts to have more retailers using tube real estate.

Asda is already running a trial scheme with outlets in a number of car parks near tube stations, with plans to expand.

Waitrose is yet to confirm where its shops will be located, but tesco has said that they will be opening outlets in station car parks at Osterley (Piccadilly Line), Newbury Park (Central Line), Rayners Lane (Piccadilly, Metropolitan), Finchley Central (Northern), Arnos Grove (Piccadilly), and Cockfosters (Piccadilly).

Other retailers joining supermarkets in looking to market to commuters include florists, and InPost UK, which will be installing automated parcel lockers at three stations for collection of online orders in the coming months.
