Scotland Yard have arrested eleven men in raids in London and Essex on suspicion of bringing at least £4-5 million worth of pure cocaine into the UK each year through Heathrow’s cargo shed.
Large quantities of “near pure cocaine” we recovered in the raids, with a street value of millions of pounds.
The drugs are believed to be brought to Heathrow in the cargo containers of flights from Mexico City, with baggage handlers quickly removing the drugs from the containers before they were moved on a processed. A group of couriers are then believed to have been ferrying the drugs between Heathrow and the criminal gangs that control dealing the drugs on the streets of London.
The eleven men arrested in the raids are aged between 25 and 53, and include the so-called “Mr Big” of the operation who drives a sports car and entertains a lavish lifestyle.
