The Metropolitan Police are searching for five men who were caught on CCTV laughing as they kicked a woman unconscious on a night bus in Lambeth, south London.
A 22-year-old woman was travelling on the 344 night bus at around 01:15 on 29th August when a group of five young men got on the bus at Lambeth Road. The men sat in front of the woman and exchanged a few words before one of the men poured his drink on her and pulled her hair. When she got up to escape the situation, she was pushed to the floor and kicked in the stomach as she fell unconscious.
After attacking the woman, the men got off the bus and headed for Lambeth Walk.
The police have a released a video of the attack in an attempt to track down and prosecute those involved
Detective Constable Kyla Mulley, of Lambeth CID, said:
“This was a shocking attack on a young woman, prompted by nothing more than a brief exchange of words. It is vital we track down this man and hold him to account for his behaviour. I am also keen to speak with other members of the group, who would be able to assist the investigation.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to call DC Mulley on 020 8649 2196 or report information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
