The mother of Mikaeel Kular has been allowed out of jail to see the body of the son she stands accused of murdering.

Rosdeep Kular, 33, was escorted from Conrton Vale women’s prison where she is being held, to a funeral parlour in Kircaldy, Fife on Tuesday, before his body was cremated.

Kular was not present at Mikaeel’s funeral.

Mikaeel’s body was discovered in woodland in Fife on 17 January after, the day after he was reported missing from his home in Edinburgh, and police and locals organised a large-scale manhunt, with people searching woodlands and going door-to-door for information.

Kular has made no plea or declaration to the charges of murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
