A man will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today charged with attempted murder for the vicious hammer attack against three women in a central London hotel room.

The attacker broke the hotel room of three United Arab Emirates (UAE) women around 02:00 BST on Monday at the four-star Cumberland Hotel in central London. He then bludgeoned the women with a hammer, leaving all three needing hospital attention, with one woman remaining in a critical condition.

The Evening Standard reports that the man facing the charges of three counts of attempted murder and one of aggravated burglary is 32-year-old Philip Spence.

Three other people have also been charged in connection with the attack with regard to handling stolen goods, fraud, and false representation.
