As we approach the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death, Seattle Police Department have re-examined the details surrounding his suicide and released a number of never-before-seen photos from the scene.
The police deny re-opening the case, but detectives did re-examine the evidence in order to be comfortable with answering any questions that may arise as Nirvana fans commemorate his passing. In doing so, they found three or four rolls of undeveloped film, and have published what they found in the aims of transparency.
One of the images shows a box of drug paraphernalia with cigarettes and a pair of sunglasses nearby, with another showing Cobain’s wallet with his ID.
Cobain’s body was discovered in the living quarters above his garage at his Lake Washington house by Veca Electric employee on 8 April 1994. 27-year-old Cobain had shot himself in the head with a shotgun after injecting a large dose of heroin, a drug to which he was addicted.
