The most desirable postcodes in which to live across England, Scotland, and Wales have been revealed in a report by the Royal Mail.

In a study to mark the 40th anniversary of the postcode, Royal Mail in conjunction with the Centre for Economic and Business Research (CEBR) evaluated the area represented by each postcode for a variety of factors including:

  • Employment opportunities
  • Health levels
  • Education and training opportunities
  • Crime levels
  • Homelessness, household overcrowding and ease of accessing local services
  • The quality of the physical environment
  • Housing affordability – the relationship between average house prices and average annual earnings

After tallying the results, the Royal Mail crowned TD9 in Tidworth, Wiltshire as the most desirable place to live in England, G44 in Glasgow’s south side as the best place in Scotland, and LL78 in Brynteg on the Isle of Anglesey topped the chart in Wales.
