Strong winds and heavy rain are causing travel disruption across the UK as the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo hits British shores.

Winds of up to 70mph have brought down a number of trees causing road disruption and have caused a number of flights to be delayed or cancelled at Heathrow. Many ferries have also been cancelled.

The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warnings for the entire UK, alerting the public to potential travel disruption and damage to trees.

The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for parts of the Anglian region at Felixstowe Ferry and Bawdsey Quay and on the Norfolk Coast at Walcott, from Sea View and Watch House Lane in Keswick to Horizon View in Ostend.

A pedestrian is in a “critical condition” in hospital after being crushed by a falling tree opposite Knightsbridge Barracks, London in high winds at 11:00 BST.

Two lorries overturned in Cambridgeshire, closing the A1(M) near junction 16 at Norman Cross and blocking the B1098 earlier today.
