A 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck in the East Midlands in the early hours of the morning.

Just after 07:00 tremors were felt in Oakham, Rutland, as well as up to 45km away in the neighbouring counties of Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.

The British Geological Survey (BST) indicated that the earthquake was triggered at a depth of 4km at 06:07 BST.

The quake could be seen on the seismograph shared by Clive Mitchell of the BGS:

We can confirm there has been an earthquake in the Rutland area, our seismologists are still analysing all the data
