The skeleton of a small child as been uncovered beneath a driveway in Purley, south London.

The bones, including a skull and a femur, were unearthed by landscape gardeners working in the front garden of a property in Riddlesdown Road, with the owners of the property quickly calling the police to investigate.

Anthropologists are now carbon dating the bones, but they are believed to be very old, and may be from an Anglo-Saxon burial ground known to be nearby, according to the Evening Standard.
