The body of a man has been found impaled on railings near a church in Kensington, London.

The body was discovered by a passer-by at 06:30 this morning on railings around the gardens surrounding St Mary Abbots church, a short distance from the busy Kensington High Street.

London Ambulance Service attended the incident and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan police have said that the body is yet to be identified, but there is “nothing at this very early stage to indicate that the death is suspicious”.

The incident is being investigated by detectives from Kensington and Chelsea CID.
