A body has been found in a burning skip near Manchester’s Apollo Theatre.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene after reports of a burning skip at the car park by the Apollo Theatre on the A57 Hyde Road in Ardwick, at about 05:30 BST on Monday.
After putting out the blaze, police discovered a body inside the skip, although it is not yet clear whether it is of a man or a woman.
The police have closed off the A57 Hyde Road in both directions between the A665 Devonshire Street North and the A6 Stockport Road, Brunswick Street and Higher Ardwick as investigations continue.
The Manchester Apollo is a renowned music venue that hosts chart-topping acts throughout the year. On Sunday night, the venue hosted a performance by girl band The Saturdays.
