A police officer and at least one fan are suffering from gunshot wounds after being shot in Rome before the Coppa Italia final between Napoli and Fiorentina in Rome.
The police officer was shot in the hand and the supporter is reported to be in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in the chest, according to Sky News.
The incident occurred as the fans prepared before the game at the Stadio Olimpico, with further disturbances reported near to the venue as rivals supporter threw firecrackers, bottles, and stones at each other.
The kick-off was delayed by 45 minutes as team captains appealed for calm from their fans, with Napoli eventually winning the title 3-1.
