Former US rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight has been charged with murder after allegedly running over two men in a California car park, killing one of them.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said that Knight has been charged with one count of murder, one count of attempted murder, and two counts of felony hit-and-run.

The 49-year-old former CEO of Death Row Records was reportedly exchanging punches with another man through the window of his Ford F-150 Raptor pick-up truck, before Knight began reversing the vehicle and knocked one of the victims to the ground.

The producer then allegedly puled his vehicle forward, running over the first victim and striking the second, before driving away from the scene without calling emergency services.

Knight faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if found guilty.
