The shortlist for the 2014 Barclaycard Mercury Prize have been announced at an event at the Hospital Club in London.
The prize celebrates the best in British music, with the shortlist narrowing a list of 220 albums to just tweleve, which this year includes seven debut albums and five records by more established artists.
The winner of the prize will be announced at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show at the Roundhouse on Wednesday 29 October 2014.
