Spain may already be the home of the Roca brothers’ Celler de Can Roca eatery, but the infamous party island of Ibiza is soon to house the most expensive restaurant on the planet with the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, where a meal for one will cost up to €1,500 (£1,235).

Opening on 1 June, Hard Rock Hotel customers will be paying for “avant-garde gastronomy” served up by Paco Roncero, a two Michelin star chef, with only 12 guests served per night. The lucky dozen will enjoy a “gastro-sensory” spectacle including lights, sounds, and hovering dinner plates, according to The Local.
