Marco Pierre White’s flagship four-star Steakhouse restaurant in Birmingham has been awarded a zero rating by an environmental health officer.

The Steakhouse Bar & Grill is situated on the 25th floor of The Cube, with meals costing around £50 per head.

The poor rating was the result of the restaurant failing a visit by the Environmental Health Department of Birmingham City Council in March, with the zero rating now appearing on the FSA website.

The restaurant have said that they have already acted on what needed to be addressed and continue to work closely with the council. They say that subsequent visits by the council have been “very positive”, according to a spokesman speaking to the Birmingham Mail.

The restaurant will retain its zero rating until officially reinspected, which normally takes between six and 18 months.

The poor rating comes after Jamie Oliver was forced to close his Barbecoa butchers in London after it failed a health inspection.
