The final trailer for the upcoming addition to the mutant franchise X-Men: Days of Future Past has been released online.

The film fits into the series as the sequel for X-Men: First Class (2011) and the prequel to the original X-Men trilogy and is directed by franchise veteran Bryan Singer.

The official synopsis from 20th Century Fox reads:

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.
